Snowmobile and Car Collide – 76 Year Old Airlifted To Hospital

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) On February 11, 2013 at about 10:18am the County of Wellington OPP responded to the report of a snowmobile and car collision on Wellington Road 109 near Side Road 3 of Wellington North Township.

Investigation revealed the 2005 Ski Doo was travelling eastbound on the south shoulder of Road 109, when it turned left to cross the roadway, and was struck by a 2000 Saturn motor vehicle, which was travelling east on Road 109.

The driver of the snowmobile, a 76 year old male from Oakville was transported to the Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus by Guelph-Wellington EMS, and then airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital with serious injuries. The 46 year old driver of the Saturn was not injured. The investigation is continuing.
