Snow squall watch in effect for:
Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
There is potential for the development of snow squalls beginning tonight. Under the most intense snow squalls, local snowfall amounts in excess of 15 cm are possible by the time the activity tapers off Thursday night.
In addition, northwest winds gusting to 50 km/h are expected to develop on Thursday resulting in areas of blowing snow and very poor visibilities.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
