Snow Squall Watch For Huron and Perth – 15cm Snow, Reduced Visibility

4:32 AM EST Wednesday 04 January 2017

Snow squall watch in effect for:

Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County

Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County

Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Snow squalls are expected to develop. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are expected to develop to the east of Lake Huron later this morning as much colder air arrives. While accumulations are expected to exceed 15 cm in some locales, the greater threat will be the strong gusty westerly winds which will cause extensive blowing snow and potential whiteout conditions.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Road closures are possible.
