Snow Squall Warning For Wingham And Blyth – 15 CM Snow Possible

4:42 AM EST Friday 10 March 2017

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls are developing off Lake Huron. Snow squalls are expected to move around today as the winds shift. Local amounts of 10 to 15 cm per 12 hours are possible in the most persistent snow squalls. Snow squalls will intensify tonight and continue Saturday.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
