Snow Squall Warning – 80KM Winds 15CM Snow – STAY HOME!

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County

Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County

Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Lake effect snow at times heavy is affect much of Huron and Perth as of mid afternoon. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are likely by this evening.

In addition, winds gusting to 70 or 80 km/h are expected to create widespread whiteout conditions this afternoon.

The conditions should improve this evening as the lake effect snowfall shifts north of the Huron and Perth regions.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.

Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
