Snow Squall Warning – 50KM Winds, Travel Expected To Be Hazardous

4:53 AM EST Wednesday 13 January 2016

Snow squall warning in effect for:

Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County

Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County

Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Lake effect snow at times heavy is affecting much of Huron and Perth counties. Additional snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 are possible by the time the snow squalls weaken later this morning.

In addition, winds gusting to 50 km/h are expected to create reduced visibility in blowing snow.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.

Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
