Snow squall warning in effect for:
Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron are expected to begin weakening overnight and then redevelop later Friday morning.
Local snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected under the heaviest snow squalls.
Highways 21, 6 and 10 are likely to be affected.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
