(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On November 25, 2017 at 10:27 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along Fred Street in Mildmay. Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on November 24, 2017 and 8:00 a.m. on November 25, 2017, a window was broken on a Grey Kia Forte and some loose change was taken. There is no estimate on the cost of repairs to the vehicle available at this time.
The South Bruce OPP is offering some tips from the Lock it or Lose it initiative that help to prevent vehicle thefts:
Always roll up the windows, lock the door and pocket the key.
If you have a garage, use it. Lock the door as well as the vehicle.
Always park in a well-lit area.
Never leave your vehicle running while it’s unattended.
Never leave valuable objects in plain view.
Never leave your car keys in plain view.
