Skateboarder Goes Through Stop Sign and Collides with Vehicle

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday May 20th, 2015 the Owen Sound Police responded to a collision at the intersection of 7th Street and 8th Avenue East. The investigation revealed that a skateboarder had been westbound on 7th Street and proceeded directly into the intersection into the path of a southbound vehicle travelling on 8th Avenue. The 19 year old skateboarder failed to stop at the stop sign. The skateboarder struck the driver’s side of the vehicle then impacted the front windshield. Emergency Medical Service Personnel attended the scene to tend to the injured young man. The skateboarder was transport by ambulance to the Grey Bruce Health Service to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending against the skateboarder.
