Skateboard Towing Leads To Charges

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On October 7, 2012 at 4:19 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Huron Terrace in Kincardine noticed a Black Dodge Ram towing a male on a skateboard. The truck and skateboard were both stopped. The driver, 25 year old Kyle YORK of Sarnia, was charged with Careless driving. The skateboard rider, 23 year old Justin YORK of Kincardine, was charged with Person attach to vehicle.

Hanging on to a moving vehicle is not just illegal, it’s dangerous. This could easily have ended in serious injury had police not intervened.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
