(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with assistance from the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team is currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision which occurred at 2:15 a.m. this morning.
Huron OPP officers observed a motor vehicle previously reported stolen by London Police Service on Main Street South and Goderich Street in Seaforth. Police attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver refused to stop.
While traveling southbound on Division Line in the municipality of Huron East, the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle in the east ditch.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18 year old female from London was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. A 17 year old male passenger also from London was treated and released from hospital with minor injuries.
The OPP has notified province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU communications at (416) 622-2342.
Division Line between Huron Road and Front Road remains closed due to the investigation. Motorists are requested to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
