On December 23, 2015 at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Guelph Police became involved in an investigation on Huron Street involving an adult male.
During the course of the police investigation the male was arrested. While arresting the male a struggle ensued and as a result the male sustained an injury. The male was transported to the Guelph General Hospital and was released back into police custody.
On December 24, 2015 the Guelph Police notified the S.I.U., and they have invoked their mandate to investigate this matter. The Guelph Police will continue to cooperate with the S.I.U. as their investigation progresses.
No further details will be released by this Service as the matter is now under the investigative mandate of the S.I.U.
