On July 15, at 9:30 a.m., the Guelph Police became involved in an investigation on MacDonnell Street involving an adult male.
During the course of the investigation, police attempted to arrest the male and a struggle ensued. The male was arrested and and sustained an injury during the arrest. The male was transported to the Guelph General Hospital by ambulance, where he received treatment for his injuries. The Guelph Police notified the S.I.U as a result of the injury and they have invoked their mandate to investigate this matter. As always the Guelph Police continue to cooperate with the S.I.U.
No further details will be released as the matter is now under the S.I.U. investigative mandate.
