On May 2nd, 2014 the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) concluded its investigation into the in-custody death of a 46 year old Port Elgin man on June 13th, 2013.
SIU Director Tony Loparco concluded there are no reasonable grounds to charge any Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS) officers with any criminal offence in relation to the death of a 46 year old man in June of last year”.
