Single Vehicle Crash – One Airlifted To London Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 17, 2013, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash on Line 32 west of Perth Road 130, south of Sebringville. .

Investigation into the collision revealed that a Pontiac SUV had been travelling West bound on Line 32 around 8:30 a.m. when it left the roadway entered the south ditch and struck a tree. The vehicle rolled and landed back onto its wheels on the south shoulder.

The lone female occupant (driver) was removed from the vehicle by members of the Sebringville fire department and Perth County ambulance personnel. She was transported to the Stratford General Hospital by land ambulance from where she was transported by air ambulance to the London Victoria Hospital in critical condition.

Line 32 between Perth Road 130 and Road 134 was closed to traffic from 9 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. to allow for the removal of the vehicle and the safe investigation of the crash by the O.P.P. West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators.

Roads were dry and it was sunny at the time of the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
