Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, a woman from Lansdowne Avenue in Chatham thought she heard someone throwing rocks at her front window. As she checked her window, she observed bullet holes in her door instead. There were two adults and one small child in the residence at the time of the incident, luckily no one was injured.
Officers flooded the area, however no one was found. Police believe this was not a random act of violence. Damage to the door has been estimated at about $1000.
The incident remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Service Major Crime Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Shawn Mungar at 519-519-436-6600 extension #288. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
