On May 20, 2015 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Guelph Police Service members were involved in a critical incident at the Guelph General Hospital Emergency Unit located at 115 Delhi Street. During the incident, service firearms were discharged resulting in serious injuries to a member of the public.
Accordingly, the Guelph Police have contacted the Ontario Special Investigations Unit. The SIU subsequently invoked its mandate and as always the Guelph Police Service will cooperate with the SIU through its investigation. As dictated by legislation all further information released to the public / media shall originate through the SIU.
