Shot Fired In Home Invasion

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent home invasion and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible.

On May 21, 2016, at approximately 10:50 pm, the female occupant of an apartment, situated in the 100 block of Lees Avenue, opened her door to three unknown males. The three suspects forced their way into the apartment. One of the suspects was carrying a handgun and pointed it the victim. A demand was made for cash and the suspect threatened to shoot the victim. To reinforce the demand, the suspect fired a single shot into a piece of furniture. The suspects obtained an undisclosed quantity of cash and fled the premises. There were no injuries.

The suspects are described as follows:

#1-black male, 25 to 30 years of age, medium build, hair in a large pony tail, wearing black sweat pants and an army green shirt

#2-black male, medium build, wearing black Nike hooded shirt and black pants

#3-black male, approximately 20-25 years of age, wearing a black hooded shirt and a Nike baseball hat

This is not believed to have been a random incident.
