Barrie Police officers attended a Bayfield Street department store regarding a theft of a 50 inch TV. A lone male entered the store and placed a 50 inch TV into a shopping cart. The male made no attempt to pay for the merchandise before leaving the store.
Once outside the store the male loaded the TV into a van with a driver, the van was last seen northbound on Bayfield Street.
Barrie Police sent out a zone alert to officers in the region regarding the theft.
A short time later the suspects and vehicle were located in Orillia attempting to enter the same department store. They were subsequently arrested by Orillia OPP and the merchandise recovered.
Barrie Police and Orillia OPP officers are currently investigating the theft.
