Shoplifter Throws Vacuums Over Garden Centre Fence

Woman Charged with Theft
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following an incident of shoplifting in Wallaceburg.

On September 4, 2013, a man and woman attended a business on McNaughton Avenue. One entered the store while the other stood outside the fence of the Garden Centre. Once inside, two vacuums were moved from the display isle and thrown over the fenced compound. The total value of the theft was $1000.

Through investigation, the man and woman were identified. Just before 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the woman was located and arrested. The 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with theft under $5000 and failing to comply with release conditions x2. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing. Officers continue to look for the man wanted in connection with this incident.
