On Tuesday May 12th, 2015 at approximately 12:11 PM Barrie Police Service received multiple calls from citizens who observed a loss prevention officer attempting to arrest a female shoplifter at a grocery store located on Wellington Street in the downtown area.
Officers arrived on scene where an adult female was arrested for theft under $5000.00. Investigation revealed the female had numerous cosmetic products in her possession worth $41.10.
Officers learned that the female party was bound by conditions of a probation order as a result of a previous theft charge.
As a result the female is facing theft under and breach of probation charge. The female was transported to the Barrie station where she was later released with a future court date.
