Barrie Police were called to a downtown LCBO outlet for a shoplifter who was attempting to escape store security.
Police were told the 45 year old Collingwood male had attempted to steal two 60 oz bottles of liquor when Store security attempted to arrest him and he began fighting in an effort to escape.
Police arrived and took the male into custody for theft, possession, assault to resist arrest and breaching his probation. He was held for a bail hearing Friday morning.
There were no injuries to security or the accused.
