(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A 48 year old female driver will be without her driver’s licence for the week after she was stopped for speeding on April 17, 2015. Just before 3:30 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Amberley Road near Hall’s Hill Line when a speeding westbound Chevrolet Cobalt caught the officer’s attention.
The officer confirmed his observations with a RADAR device and measured the speed of the racing Cobalt at 131 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The driver was stopped, charged and served with an automatic seven day driver’s licence suspension. In addition, her vehicle was seized for seven days.
Sherry GATEMAN, 48, from Huron-Kinloss has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. She has a scheduled court appearance for June 16, 2015 at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich.
