(GODERICH, ON) A traffic stop on January 25, 2013 just before 4:00 a.m. resulted in a 41 year old female driver losing her driving privileges for an automatic 90 days. A Huron OPP officer spotted a blue Mazda that was stopped at the intersection of Britannia Road East and Toronto Street. The driver did not move her vehicle for a few minutes so the officer decided to complete a check on the driver’s sobriety.
Upon speaking with the female driver the officer detected the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was completed and the driver registered a fail. She later provided two samples of her breath that were both over the legal limit.
As a result, Sherry Ann BUTCHART, 41, from Palmerston has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She has a court appearance scheduled for March 4, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
