Shawn HEYWOOD – Drunk Driving Main Street Exeter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 40 year old is facing a criminal charge for driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol following a traffic stop late last night. Just before 11:30 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Chevrolet Avalanche that was travelling on Main Street South in Exeter in an erratic manner. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking with the driver the officer observed signs the driver had been drinking alcohol.

A roadside screening test was completed which the driver failed. He was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to an Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples were above the legal limit.

As a result, Shawn HEYWOOD, 40, from South Huron, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on January 23, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
