The Hamilton Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public with identifying a suspect involved in a sexual offence.
On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at approximately 3:15 p.m, an adult female was walking eastbound along the north sidewalk on Lawrence Road near Kenilworth Avenue in Hamilton. She observed a male walking his bicycle westbound towards her on the same sidewalk. As the suspect passed the woman, he reached out and grabbed the victim sexually assaulting her. He then fled the area on his bicycle westbound along Lawrence Road.
The suspect is described as, male white, 30-32yrs old, 5’6-5’7ft, heavy build, 200 lbs., no facial hair, chunky cheeks, gap in his front teeth, short hair, sunglasses, light shirt with a number on it, jeans, baseball hat and was riding a 10 speed bike or mountain bike while wearing a small backpack.
The Hamilton Police Service continues to investigate this incident and is asking anyone with information to contact Det. Andrew Toms of the Sexual Assault Unit at 905-540-5545. Investigators ask anyone with information, who wish to remain anonymous, to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Police have released a composite drawing of the involved suspect.
