Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. on November 2 and November 3, 2016. An unknown suspect gained entry to a secure parking garage of a residential building in Kitchener. It is believed the suspect entered behind an unsuspecting motorist and used a key FOB, which was taken from a vehicle, to exit the garage. Several cars were entered during this time frame by the suspect smashing windows. Several items were stolen, including wallets that contained personal identification, debit and credit cards. Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind the public to not leave valuables in vehicles and to lock your car doors when they are left unattended.
