(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision that has occurred between Listowel and Palmerston.
Shortly after 12:12 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, Palmerston Fire Department and other nearby emergency services departments responded to the crash scene located on Road 164 (Highway #23) just north of Line 89.
Officers have learned a white Dodge Caravan van was travelling southbound on Road 164 when the driver attempted to make a U-turn and was struck on the passenger side by a blue Dodge Caravan that was travelling northbound.
Three adults and three children were in the white Caravan. Two of the passengers in the white van, a 4-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl have been sent by land ambulance to hospital in London with serious injuries. The other occupants sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The two adults and three children in the blue Caravan were transported to a local hospital by land ambulance. Their injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
Members from the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team remain on scene assisting with the collision investigation.
Road 164 (Highway #23) remains closed between Line 89 & Line 90.
