Serious Wakeboarding Accident In Wasaga Beach Sends One To Hospital

(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On June 26th, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m. members of the Huronia West Detachment Marine Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a boater in distress near the mouth of the Nottawasaga River.

Marine officers arrived on scene to find a 20 year old male in distress due to a fall while wakeboarding. The injured male and the vessel were taken to a local marina where Simcoe County Paramedics were awaiting their arrival. The male was transported by ambulance to local hospital for further treatment. The male suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
