Serious Two Vehicle Crash

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) On Sunday April 21, 2012, around 5:20 p.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were dispatched to a serious two vehicle crash on Bluewater Hwy, between Blyth Rd and Airport Rd. north of Goderich.

Investigation revealed that a south bound Dodge Caliber was travelling south bound on Bluewater Hwy when it crossed the centre line and entered onto the north bound lane where it struck a north bound Ford F150 pickup truck. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

Huron County EMS attended the scene and transported all 3 occupants of the Dodge Caliber to the Goderich Hospital by land ambulance. The driver of the Caliber, a 19 year old male, and the 18 year old male seated in the rear seat, both Essex residents were treated at Goderich Hospital. The front seat passenger of the Caliber a 17 year old female from Lakeshore was later transported from Goderich Hospital via air ambulance to London Victoria Hospital to receive treatment for her serious injuries. The 23 year old male driver of the pickup truck, a Sarnia resident, was assessed by EMS personnel at the scene.

At the time of the collision It was sunny, and road conditions were ideal.

The Huron County O.P.P. is continuing their investigation into this crash.
