Early this morning Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision which occurred on Michener Road near Goldpark Road. The vehicle in question was travelling southbound along Michener Road when for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to collide with a Hydro pole, Hydro transformer and then a parked vehicle.
One of the male passengers sustained life threatening injuries and has been air transported to London Health Sciences. The other occupants, including the driver, a 21 year old Chatham man sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The Chatham- Kent Police Traffic Management Section and Identification Unit are still on scene investigating. Michener Road between Webb Street and Goldpark Road will be closed until noon today. Police request that motorists avoid this area. Any witnesses are asked to please contact Constable Mike Pearce of the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Section at 519-355-1092. No further information will be released at this time.
