(BLUEWATER, ON) – A male and female have been airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London with serious injuries following a two vehicle collision this afternoon. At approximately 1:45 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the collision located on Bluewater Highway at Turnbull’s Grove Road South. Officers were assisted on scene by Lambton OPP officers, Grand Bend firefighters and Huron County Paramedics.
Preliminary investigation has revealed a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle was southbound on Bluewater Highway when it collided with a northbound grey GMC Envoy that was attempting to make a left turn off the highway onto Turnbull’s Grove Road South.
The driver of the motorcycle, Wayne MERCER, 56, from Toronto and his passenger Darlene MCCONNELL, 55, also from Toronto were both transported to London Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries. The three occupants of the Envoy were uninjured.
Members from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team are on scene investigating the collision.
Bluewater Highway has been closed between Turnbull’s Road and Dashwood Road. Please take alternate routes to avoid delays.
