Serious Crash Send Two To Hospital, One By Air Ambulance

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday April 08, 2012 shortly after 4:30 p.m., Perth County OPP officers as well as fire and ambulance personnel responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Line 44 and Road 122 (west of Gads Hill).

Investigation revealed that a Chevy pickup truck travelling north bound on Road 122 operated by a 49 year old male from the Township of Perth East crossed Perth Line 44 directly in front of a west bound Hyundai SUV operated by a 49 year old male from Clinton. The Chevy pickup truck was T boned on the passenger side by the Hyundai SUV. The intersection is controlled by stop signs for traffic on Road 122 with Perth Line 44 being the through highway.

The driver of the Pickup truck was transported from the scene to London’s Victoria Hospital by air ambulance, with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the Hyundai SUV was transported by land ambulance to Stratford General Hospital, with non life threatening injuries.

Road and environmental conditions were ideal at the time of the collision. Perth Line 44 between Perth Road 119 and Road 125 was closed for approximately 1.5 hours while the heavily damaged vehicles were removed from the collision scene. The collision remains under investigation.
