Serious Collision In School Parking Lot – One Airlifted To Hospital

On October 11,2015 at 7:35 p.m., the Guelph Police received a call about a motor vehicle collision in the rear parking lot of College Heights school. On arrival, police located a Ford Mustang that had struck a tree. A Chevrolet Cobalt was also involved and parked a short distance away. The ‎vehicle that struck the tree had been driven by a 21-year-old Guelph male with a 17-year-old male passenger. The driver of this vehicle was trapped for almost two hours before emergency responders were able to extricate him. The driver was transported to the trauma unit in Hamilton by air ambulance with serious injuries. The passenger was transported to Guelph General Hospital with a possible head injury. The vehicle was demolished as a result of the collision.

The 21-year-old driver and 31-year-old occupant of the second vehicle were not injured in the collision. ‎There was no damage to this vehicle.

The collision remains under investigation. Guelph Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed either of the two vehicles prior to or at the time of the collision to contact Cst. Greg Kaut.
