(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on scene investigating a two vehicle crash that took place just east of Ethel.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m. officers from the Huron County OPP Detachment along with personnel from Huron County EMS & Huron East Fire Department responded to the crash scene located at Newry Road (County Road 17) and Krauter Line.
The preliminary investigation has determined the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck was travelling southbound on Krauter Line when the vehicle entered into the intersection and collided with another GMC Sierra pickup that was travelling eastbound on Newry Road.
The two occupants of the southbound pickup were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The lone occupant of the eastbound pickup truck, Stephen MACHAN, 47 years of age from Brussels was airlifted to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Newry Road and Krauter Line remain closed.
Officers at the scene would like to remind motorists to obey the road closure signs by taking an alternate route around the collision scene.
