Serious Collision

Cory Hallet, 24 year old of London, has been charged with several criminal offences in relation to a hit and run collision that occurred at the intersection of Oxford Street West at Commissioners Road West on Friday July 11, 2014.

At approximately 5:00am, Hallet was operating a GMC Sierra pickup truck northbound on Commissoners Road West at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Chevrolet Impala that was travelling westbound through the intersection. The driver of the Impala was transported to Victoria Hospital where she remains in stable condition after being treated for injuries that include a fractured skull, broken pelvis, broken collar bone and collapsed lung.

Hallet fled the scene prior to police arrival but was subsequently located and arrested by the London Police K9 unit.

As a result of the investigation, Cory Hallet is charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
-Dangerous operating of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 249(1)(a);
-Failing to stop at a scene of an accident involving bodily harm, contrary to Section 252(1.1);
-Take motor vehicle without consent, contrary to Section 335(1);
-Trespassing at night, contrary to Section 177

Cory Hallet is also charged with driving while suspended contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
