(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 25, 2017 approximately 1:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Hanlon Parkway near College Avenue, City of Guelph. At approximately 1:25 a 2007 Kia entered the R.I.D.E check.
While speaking with the male driver officers believed him to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.
24-year-old Sergio FALKENBURGER of Kitchener, has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with Novice Driver with Blood-Alcohol above zero. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 19, 2017.
