Seeking suspect of Britannia Beach sexual assault

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section is investigating a complaint of a sexual assault at the Britannia beach area in the west end of Ottawa.

On July 27th, Ottawa Police received a report of a male who inappropriately touched two teenaged females while they were wading in the unsupervised area of the beach in the evening.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium to chubby build, approximately 5’9” (175cm), mid 20s to early 30s. He had short black hair, a square face with chubby cheeks, unshaven and wore large sunglasses.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and black swimming shorts with a red stripe down the leg and a black hat. The male spoke English with a heavy French accent.

SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.
