Seeking public assistance to identify a male cyclist sexually assaulting women

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section is seeking the public assistance to identify a male suspect in relation to an ongoing investigation into four separate complaints of a male cyclist who inappropriately touched women as he cycles past them.

On May 20, 2016, police received a report from a woman that on that date at approximately 7:45 pm she was walking through the experimental farm between Merivale Road and Fisher Avenue when a male cyclist approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately. The woman was able to take a photo of the male as he rode away.

The male is described as 30-40 years of age, tanned skin, medium build. He was wearing blue shorts and riding a red mountain bike (see picture.)

On May 29, 2016 a woman reported that on that date at approximately 6:50pm she was walking on Mayview Avenue near Merivale Road when a male cyclist approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately. He uttered ‘I love you and then rode off.

The male is described as 16-17 years of age
