(ST.MARYS, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) Crime Unit is continuing their investigation into criminal offences involving a 55 year old male from the Municipality of West Perth.
In November 2012, investigating officers made a public plea asking to speak to anyone having had interactions with this individual. As a result, a female victim came forward and reported a 1979 incident that occurred in the Town of St.Marys.
As a result of this investigation, Thomas CHALMERS has been charged with Rape, Sexual Intercourse with a female between fourteen and sixteen years of age, and Indecent Assault on a Female. He will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Tuesday April 16, 2013, to answer to these charges.
