(Ottawa) – On the evening on the 22nd day of May 2015, a verbal altercation took place on the front steps of a residence in the 100 block of Damselfly Way in Barrhaven. During this altercation, the suspect pulled out a revolver, pointed it at the victim’s head and pulled the trigger. The weapon did not fire and the suspect retreated into his residence and locked the door. Police were called and a short time later West Division patrol officers arrested the suspect without incident outside of his residence.
The Guns and Gangs Unit immediately took carriage of the investigation and in the early morning hours of the 23rd day of May, executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. Located concealed in the basement of the residence was a 9 millimeter blank revolver that fired only blank ammunition. 9 millimeter blank ammunition was also located and seized.
Konrad MIARECKI, 25 years of Ottawa has been charged with using an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and assault with a weapon. He appeared in court this morning.
