Incident #16-10150

On Thursday, March, 2016 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a man and woman got into a domestic dispute in their residence. The argument escalated and the man picked up a laptop and threw it against a wall causing irreplaceable damage to the laptop. The woman attempted to call her mother to come and pick her up and the man grabbed her cell phone and threw it against the ground causing it to smash. When the woman attempted to leave the residence, the man grabbed her and threw her down onto the floor, preventing her from leaving. The woman got up, went over to an open window and yelled for help. The man approached her and struck her in the back of the head. He then stuck his hand in her mouth to prevent her from calling for help. A concerned citizen heard the dispute occurring and contacted 911. Brantford Police Community Patrol Officers attended and investigated. As a result, a 21 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Assault, Intimidation, and Mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.
