On February 9, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m., a lone female was walking behind Resurrection School along a Pathway that leads between Resurrection Drive and WestForest Trail in Kitchener. She was approached by a male not known to her who engaged her in conversation. The victim attempted to call for help using her cellphone and the male grabbed her, threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The victim’s screams for help were heard by a passerby who interrupted the attack and the suspect fled. The suspect was arrested by police a short distance away. The suspect is being held in custody pending a Bail hearing charged with Sexual Assault and Breach Probation.
