(TOWN OF ST MARYS, ON) – Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of scrap aluminum from Caledon Tubing located on James Street South in the Town of St Marys. The theft occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, December 25, 2016 at approximately 3:30 a.m.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that unknown suspects attended the address and forcibly gained entry to a fenced area that contained storage bins for scrap aluminum. The suspects then loaded the scrap aluminum into a white cube style van.
The value of the theft is estimated to be between $2,500 and $3,000 dollars.
