Barrie Police were called to an address at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Simcoe Street yesterday afternoon to investigate a motor vehicle collision there between a three wheeled scooter and an SUV. Investigation revealed that the operator of the scooter, a 37 year-old Barrie man, was intoxicated. The male was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Barrie Police Station to provide samples of his breath. He was determined to have twice the legal amount of alcohol in his blood.
Luckily there were no injuries as a result of the collision. The arrested male was held at the station until sober and his scooter was impounded for 7 days.
