(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – Just before 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services and Sebringville Fire Department members responded to a two vehicle collision located at the intersection of Line 26 & Perth Road 113.
Investigators have determined the driver of the school bus was travelling southbound on Road 113 when she came to a stop at the intersection. The driver of the bus then pulled out into the intersection directly into the path of a Chevrolet van that was travelling eastbound on Line 26.
The van driver braked and attempted to avoid the school bus however the van collided with the bus. The driver of the school bus was transported to hospital in Stratford where she received treatment for minor injuries.
The driver of the van and the ten students on the school bus were uninjured.
The school bus driver, Tiffany-Anne GLASS, 34 years of age from Stratford has been charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic on Through Highway contrary to section 136(1) (b) of the Highway Traffic Act.
