School Bus Driver Charged Following Collision In St. Marys

(TOWN OF ST MARYS, ON) – On Friday March 3, 2017 shortly after 3:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a collision involving a school bus and a Volkswagen car at the intersection of Wellington Street North and Parkview Drive in the Town of St Marys.

Investigation determined that the bus driver had made a left hand turn onto Parkside Drive and struck a motor vehicle that was stopped at the intersection. There were students on the bus, but there were no injuries were reported. The students were loaded onto another bus and transported home.

The driver of the bus, 59 year-old Richard KENNEDY of St Marys was charged with turn not in safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
