2 VEHICLE CRASH INVOLVING SCHOOL BUS
(HURON TWP, ON) – On May 17th, 2012 at 7:34 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a 2 vehicle crash at the intersection of Bruce County Road 7 and Concession 10, Huron Township. Officers attended with Bruce County paramedics and the Ripley Huron Fire Department to find both involved vehicles were east of Bruce County Road 7.
A First Student school bus was found lying on its side in the ditch north of Concession 10, the driver was the only occupant. There were NO students involved.
A Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck was found in the ditch south of Concession 10, Ripley Huron fire fighters were dealing with a fire at the front of the truck on police arrival.
The school bus driver and the pick up truck driver were both taken to the Kincardine hospital for assessment of non life threatening injuries. An air ambulance was called for the pick up truck driver to receive further assessment at a London hospital.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Bruce County Road 7 was closed while emergency personnel were on scene; it’s now open for traffic. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
