School and Business Break In – Clues Left Behind

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday morning September 27th, 2010 shortly after 2 a.m. Perth County OPP officers in North Perth were dispatched to St.Marys Separate School in Listowel located on Tremaine Ave. South, where an alarm had been activated.

Police attended at the scene moments later and discovered that entry had been gained to two school portables. Police located a BONELLI Yahoo 260FS mountain bike and a backpack left behind by the culprit. The backpack contained numerous electronic items which had been taken from the school portables. All school property was recovered and additional items were found in the backpack that belonged to a business situated south of the school. This business was checked and a break-in was discovered.

The following items were found to be stolen from the business;
Numerous DEWALT power tools, including a ½” hammer drill, 2 hand grinders, and an impact drill and a sawsall bag.
Ten metric machining tools, a Miller suit case welder, two Miller welding helmets and one power cord.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have seen a person or persons on bicycle carrying back packs along Tremaine Ave. South in the early hours of Monday morning to contact them. They would also like to hear from the public if they spot any of the stolen property or have knowledge of this crime.
