Saugeen Shores Press Releases – June 15 – 21

June 15, 2015

At 7:35 am, police attended at a motor vehicle accident on Bruce Rd 17, just west of Bruce Rd 3. A west bound truck lost control, entered the ditch and rolled over. The driver was arrested by police for impaired driving. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and breath tests were conducted at the hospital. The driver, a male, age 50, from South Bruce Peninsula, was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with Over the Legal Limit and Dangerous Driving.

Police received a report of a break, enter and theft from a boat at the Port Elgin harbour. The entry occurred between June 9th and 15th. A GPS, charts, knapsack and wine were stolen from the boat.

June 17, 2015

A police investigation and traffic stop resulted in two males being charged with drug related offences. A male, age 36 from Saugeen Shores has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug. A second male, age 50, also from Saugeen Shores has been charged with Possession and Trafficking a Controlled Drug. Police seized Methamphetamine and Oxycodone pills during the investigation.

June 20, 2015

At 2:40am, a police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle which was driving slowly and wandering on the road. The driver was found to have consumed alcohol and was given a roadside screening test. The test resulted in a fail and the driver was arrested and taken to the police station for breath tests. The breath tests were over the legal limit. A male, age 34, from Saugeen Shores has been charged.

At approximately 5:30pm, police received complaints from the public about a vehicle being driven erratically north bound on Highway 21 between Port Elgin and Southampton. Police located the vehicle in Southampton. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. Breath tests resulted in readings over 3 times the legal limit. A male, age 45, from Pickering, has been charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with Over the Legal Limit and Dangerous Driving.
